Minimum Qualifications

A selective process is used to determine student eligibility and is based on the following criteria:
1. Students must be currently enrolled at CSU for the semester in which they are applying for assistance.
2. Students must complete a FAFSA and have fulfilled any/all verification requirements.
3. Students are residents of Illinois.
4. Juniors and seniors must have a cumulative Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of 2.5. Graduate level students must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0.
5. Students must meet Federal Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
6. Students must exhaust all eligible free financial aid funding (Pell Grant, FSEOG Grant, and MAP Grant).
7. Students who are offered EAF and have loan eligibility will have their EAF award adjusted.
8. Only students seeking their first bachelors, masters or doctoral degree are eligible.
9. Students are REQUIRED to perform CSU service hours as a condition of accepting the Educational Assistance Fund.
10. Students are REQUIRED to attend an EAF orientation.
11. Copy of CAPP/GAPP Degree audit evaluation and a resume are required and must be submitted via people admin.

Job Description Summary

The Educational Assistance Fund (E.A.F.) is designed to assist students who require additional financial resources in meeting their goal of graduation. Awards generated may be applied to current charges within the fiscal academic year (tuition and mandatory fees only). Funding of this program is not guaranteed and will be reviewed every term to determine availability. Chicago State University employees are not eligible for the award.

Duties performed for service hours may vary.
Students awarded must perform monitored and approved CSU service hours. All CSU service hours must be preapproved by the Educational Assistance Fund Administrator (EAF) located in The Office of Student Financial Aid.
