Job Summary

This is a 6-week seasonal position. Summer employment only. Dates are july 1 – August 7, 2018. Your responsibilities are to teach academic science courses to 6th-12th graders according grade level.

Job Description

Instructors start time will be 7:45 a.m. and end at 2:00 p.m. M-F. The instructor meet with each class five times a week. The instructor will teach five science classes with labs. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, AP Chemistry or AP Physics. Attendance will be taken everyday of the program. Lesson plans must be prepared and presented to the office before the start of the program. A syllabus must be provided outlining course expectations and grading guidelines and given to the students the first day of class. Teachers are required to Chaperone planned field trips. Teachers must attend the orientation and awards ceremony. Teachers must attend 3 meetings throughout the course of the summer program to discuss program issues and concerns.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Science

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in STEM field, preferably Chemistry, Physics or Engineering

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must have experience teaching middle and high school science courses in Biology, Chemistry, Physics.
