Job Summary

Work with the Principal Investigator to research Inquiry Based Learning in College Algebra. Assess its effect on critical thinking; publish and present findings in peer-reviewed journals and professional conferences.

Job Description

1. Responsible for implementing research priorities

2. Develops systematic approach and maintains efficient and effective daily workflow in an area, and submits reports as assigned.

3. Manages material resources. Maintains appropriate records. Communicates and follows-up on pertinent matters.

4. Serves as a resources person, referral agent and creates links and acts as a liaison to other campus and community groups, expanding internal and external program development.

5.Formulate the assessment of effectiveness and implements the assessment program . Recommends and implements changes based on the assessments. Resolves any existing program problems.

6. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree in mathematics or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree or advanced standing in a doctoral program in mathematics, computer science, or technologies in instruction. Teaching experience in mathematics at the collegiate freshmen and sophomore level. Experience in application of statistics and assessment of teaching and learning effectiveness in mathematics.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational skills and demonstrated ability to interact with diverse teaching and learning styles.
  • Proven ability to work independently, assume responsibility, exercise good judgment and communicate effectively.
